Ok Jaanu – Movie Review

3 out of 5 stars (3 / 5)

A simple and light weight movie to chill upon and will really give you some cozy feelings. The story and theme is targeted to the new generation audience who will actually get involved in the story while watching it. It is not comparable with Aashiqui 2 as both have a different story prospect. Aashiqui 2 was a kind of love story which is portraying the madness and sacrifice for love. This one is presenting the love life of every next youngster living in metro cities far from families. One of the biggest truth of current Indian Generation is like they want a causal relationship, a western outlook to their life but most of them don’t realize that from the bottom of the heart they are still someone who actually want to be in a relationship where they want love like 90’s Bollywood movies. Even if they want that from inside, don’t want to accept it coz they believe it may stop them to be modern or it makes them feel like a classic person or this is the way of life.

Well not going out of topic let’s talk about the movie.
Movie is all about a couple who met in a common friend’s marriage ceremony and get attracted to each other. Both individuals have different aspects in their life and were chasing the same. So, don’t want to be in a relationship where any commitment is needed. But as somebody rightly said love happens without your permissions, it is a feeling which can be controlled, but you cannot erase it from your brain ever, if you ever felt true love for anybody. Then there is a journey of couple living together with beautiful light moments and with an obvious climax. The lacking point of the movie is the climax, which is very predictable and straight. But the pace of the movie was good and entertainer throughout the whole two hours fifteen minutes.
The lead actors Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor were really awesome and they look so natural while doing these kinds of roles. Shraddha no doubt looking very beautiful in the movie and best thing about her is like she actually represents the beauty of a girl every next door. It is the simplicity and cuteness more than the beauty which actually made her perfect. Commendable acting by the legend actor Naseeruddin Shah and Leela Samson. Music is very awesome composed by A R Rahman, specially the Enna Sona and Hamma Hamma song.

A light romantic movie for a one time watch with beautiful songs.

Kahaani 2 – Movie Review

3.5 out of 5 stars (3.5 / 5)

A movie from Director Sujoy Ghosh and it is not a sequel of the movie released in 2012 Kahaani. It is a new story casting the same outstandingly talented Vidya Balan in the character of a women from West Bengal. Movie is very beautifully directed with awesome screen play and direction. It is able to keep the pace always up from the beginning to end. The thrill and suspense is maintained till the end as the plot was demanding. Arjun Rampal is playing the character of a cop who is investigating the case of Vidya Balan.

As shown in the trailer, the movie is all about a woman from rural area who was working in a school as admin attended, who comes across a girl child who was victim of child abuse at her own home. Vidya Balan tried exploring the things more and get into trouble. Then the story went on with various twists and turns leading to a very thrilling climax. Movie is delivering a message of awareness towards child abuse in the society. A kid cannot identify the difference between love and lust, he or she been exploited by the people, sometimes the very dear and near one in the society is the culprit. They cannot express it to anyone and it eventually lead to a different life with so much trauma in the childhood. The parents and family should always be alert and try to educate as much as possible to the children and try to be open with them.

Arjun Rampal paid justice to his role with a character of an inspector who actually played the trump card in the movie and made it more interesting. Jugal Hansraj the chocolaty guy from Mohabbatein is there in the movie playing the negative role.

Overall it is a must watch for an awesome movie with some good message

Dear Zindagi – Movie Review

3 out of 5 stars (3 / 5)

A movie which is different from the league and truly shows a different prospective of life. Director Gauri Shinde nailed the concept and presented it in a very beautiful manner. The low part of the movie is first half which is little lagging and seems likes audience doesn’t have a clue that about what is actually going on in the movie and what is the story. It is after the interval that things lined up and the actual message they want to deliver started reflecting . It is not a movie for mass as surely it is not on the Bollywood masala category. Casting of Shahrukh is obviously grabbing more people to the theater but not everybody is happy with the movie. But it is a master piece which you should actually understand by going into the depth of the story.

dear-zindagi
Movie is all about loving your life and how to tackle the problems in your life with a positive node. It shows life of a person who is actually living with a scare inside or an insecurity which was driving the life of that person in a negative way. Eventually the movie will teach you how to overcome your fears and insecurity. On the other side, it is also showing the life of a child who was estranged by parents, to live with grandparents, and whose parents were not kind enough towards her childhood. If the love and care a kid needed was not provided at the right time and right age will really change the way of life ahead.

kunal-kapoor-alia-bhatt-759
A fantastic performance by Alia Bhatt and she is delivering her best day by day. Shahrukh Khan is playing the role of a Brain Doctor who actually thinks in a different way for helping people to come out of the various mental issues. I don’t have to mention about the legendary actor, it is always awesome watching him with some real acting. You can find a bunch of actors like Ali Hassan, Kunal Kapoor in the movie as some meaningful character delivering good acting.

It is a must watch to learn something which probably help you in your life.

Force 2 – Movie Review

3 out of 5 stars (3 / 5)

The ACP Yashvardhan is back again with Force 2, on the lines of 2011 release Force (Directed by Nishikant Kamat) but this time directed by Abhinay Deo and produced by John Abraham and Vipul Amrutlal Shah. The movie is packed with brilliant action sequences with an average story line but the pace and thrill was maintained in the whole movie which actually made it a good entertainer.

john-sonakshi
Movie is all about a cop from Mumbai Police department joined up with RAW agent KK to trapping down a master mind terrorist. In this mission, they are travelling around the Europe tackling various challenges. There is chase scene between ACP Yashvardhan (John Abraham) and terrorist (Tahir Bhasin), this kind of situation is repeated two times in the movie which was little lagging as per me. Some action scenes were awesome with various camera techniques, like playing a video game. In the last movie, you watched John lifting motorcycle with his bare hands and now he is lifting a car in this movie.
car-john-lifting
As always, he is beefed up with awesome muscles with eight pack abs and looking massive all over the movie. The role of KK is played by Sonakshi Sinha who is actually re-writing the persona of actresses in Indian cinema doing action movies like Aakira and now Force 2. Both John and Sonakshi did a fantastic Job in the movie and it was fun and thrill watching them throughout the two hours seven minutes. You can see Adil Hussain in the movie as a minister and a cameo role by Boman Irani and Genelia D’Souza flashing back the old Force movie memories.

Overall it is a onetime watch for some thriller actions!

Rock On 2 – Movie Review

2 out of 5 stars (2 / 5)

Rock On (2008) was Directed by Abhishek Kapoor and now the Sequel Rock On 2 Directed by Shujaat Saudagar is a complete disappointment in the terms of entertainment. Movie is same as old based on Rock Musical Drama but this time the soul is not there, neither the music is good. Story is the culprit; it is not holding the audience to movie. Till the interval I was searching for pickup in the story line but it was lagging from the beginning till the interval. Exactly I want to say it was too boring till the interval. But it doesn’t mean that after interval it picked up, it was still in the same lag. In the last 30 minutes of the movie it looks like yes now something interesting will happen and was waiting for that. But the climax also was not much happening but at least better than the ninety percent of the movie.

rock-on-2
No complaints regarding the actors, everybody did well as per the characters and the story demanded. The movie failed with the story, direction and music. The Rock On (2008) has set a certain level of expectation and standard, so this one should be above that. I believe even Farhan Akhtar also may be realizing after watching this movie that it is not up to the mark. Other than the previous cast Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli, Prachi Desai the new add-ons are Shraddha Kapoor, and Shashank Arora. Kumud Mishra is there in the role of a famous traditional musician and father of Shraddha Kapoor and must say not used him as per his capability.

rock-on
When we think about Rock On, it is all about the music. Now this sequel is with such music which is completely pathetic and with soul less story. In the climax they played the old Rock On title song for some minutes which at least brought some smile on the face.

Well, it is a disappointment from Farhan Akhtar.

Shivaay – Movie Review

4 out of 5 stars (4 / 5)

A power charged action blockbuster Directed and Acted by Ajay Devgan. The movie overall is fantastic and outstanding with excellent screenplay and direction. Before watching the movie, I was expecting larger than life actions, hanging on wires with lot of bad VFX. ajay-devgn-shivaay-7591Making me wrong, this movie delivered actions with thrilling experience even though larger than life but entertaining. VFX is used in all mountain parts of the movie but work is excellent. The title song Bolo Har Har Har actually increased the intensity of the movie. The song is too much powerful to handle. This music and chanting of Sanskrit slogans are running along with all action sequences, which actually mesmerized the audience.

erika
As shown in trailer, movie is all about a person living somewhere around Himalayan range and working as a Trek Camp Organiser and owner. He so perfect in trekking that at certain occasions Indian Army also takes help from him in some operations. sayeshaHe met a Bulgarian beauty some day and the story goes on with thrilling action sequences. Erika Kaar is there in the role of Bulgarian girl Olga, Abigail Eames as Gaura, daughter of Shivaay. Sayesha Saigal is playing the role of an Indian Embassy Officer. Vir Das is also there as a computer expert.

abigail
Abigail Eames is the life line of story and she was too good in that role. The whole movie is solely lead by Ajay Devgan and you can really see the hard work he did for this movie. Only lacking point which I found in the movie is that it was little lagging in between interval and climax. But trust me this movie definitely inspires you to do some trekking and reach the great Himalayas.

Overall it is a must watch movie for some awesome action sequences.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil – Movie Review

3 out of 5 stars (3 / 5)

A Karan Johar Directed movie after long time and expected at same standards what he delivered till now. Emotion, Drama, beautiful locations and obviously, entertainer too. The direction and screenplay is awesome along with beautiful songs. Ranbir Kapoor was outstanding in the movie with his charming though intense role with comic touch as usual. Anushka Sharma stole the show with her rock-solid acting, hats off for her consistent performance in all the movies till now. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is looking gorgeous with beautiful outfits for every single appearance. Fawad Khan is there in a very short role giving justice to his role.

anushka-ranbir

As shown in trailer movie is all about love stories. To know that who loves whom and what happened to them, you have to watch the movie as it is the main stream of the story and which is also the lacking point of movie. The story is not much good enough as it feels like lagging after the interval and finally ended up in a dramatic way. The soul of the movie is actually the actors who took this movie to heights which makes it an entertainer. There are some surprise cameo persons in the movie which will really bring some smile on your face.

ash

Movie is giving a strong message and inspiration to those who are in one sided love. It actually explains the greatness and value of loving somebody without expecting anything from the opposite side. Along with love, it is actually showing the feelings and string attached between a girl and boy as friends too. The story is little complicated with complex love lines along with a dramatic climax.

Overall, it is a onetime watch and a good entertainer too.

M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story – Movie Review

3.5 out of 5 stars (3.5 / 5)

Story of Captain Cool, Captain of Indian Cricket Team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the person who lead us to the World Cup after 28 years of long wait. The movie is all about the life of Mr. Dhoni till the World Cup we won in 2011. A regular guy born and brought up in Ranchi, not much good in studies but was very keen towards sports like Football, tennis etc. even though he was not so fond of Cricket in his child hood, but his school coach brought him into Cricket and then a legend started shaping in. It is all about how each and every person in Dhoni’s life supported him and how he fought with all odd situations and circumstances in his life to become today’s M.S. Dhoni. Talking about the performances Sushant Singh Rajput brilliantly played the innings and brought the movie into winning situation as like Dhoni himself . He really fits into the role and he completely nailed the character with all the possible ways. Anupam Kher is there in the movie as Pan Singh Dhoni father of MS Dhoni did justice to his role. I really want to mention two outstanding people in the film industry who always live the character in all their movies, Mr. Kumud Mishra and Mr. Rajesh Sharma.

dhoni-ssr-1
Movie also brings out the hidden love stories of Dhoni’s life featuring Disha Patani as ex-girlfriend and Kiara Advani as Sakshi Singh Dhoni, his wife. The whole screen play is well shot featuring the era of 80’s and 90’s as the Dhoni’s struggle.

disha-patani759

kiaraadvani7591

The guy Herry Tangri is there in the movie as young Yuvraj Singh who really looks like Yuvi in the movie. The lacking point as per my herry-tangrianalysis is the lag of story, little before and after the interval. It maybe that we all already know about what actually will happen in the movie. Second thing is the animation thing did in the movie for making Sushant look as young in the initial screen, replacing Dhoni’s face in real Cricket match footage actually messed up and really looks funny. Body goes somewhere and the head is facing somewhere else.

Hidden message behind the movie is that one should really work hard and always remains positive and patient towards there life. Chase your dreams with full of your heart and one day you will reach the place where you are deserved to.

Overall it is a good movie to watch and know about our Captain M.S. Dhoni.

Pink – Movie Review

5 out of 5 stars (5 / 5)

Director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury made this priceless movie with such a perfection and amazing plot which is a must watch for every single citizen of our country. It is actually not a movie, it is a reflection of our society, it is a chapter to learn for every single person. Movie is about three girls living independently in a city and working in respective companies for their bread and butter. They met with an incident in a rock show with some of high profile boys. Somehow for self-defence one of the girl attacked one of them and it became a serious offence. Later on, the boys started humiliating and attacking the girls in various ways. Finally, they approached law, but again unfortunately things were against the girls. From nowhere suddenly a man came to their rescue, an old person with different mood swings suffering from bipolar disorder, a retired lawyer again back to court supporting the girls and the movie goes on with the prosecution of this case showing a journey of evil filled in our society towards a girl’s life.

pink
Taapsee Pannu as Minal Arora is the lead person in the movie with an outstanding performance. She nailed the role with such a perfection that I am sure this movie will really take her career to a different level. Amitabh Bachchan as Deepak Sehgal the retired lawyer is the soul of movie who actually made this presentation big with his amazing personality and the way he delivered the dialogues. Kirti Kulhari as Falak Ali and Andrea Tariang as Andrea are the other two girls living with Minal in the Delhi City. Hats off two these three girls for acting skills and the way they presented the characters. Angad Bedi as Rajveer Singh is the high profile person in the evil side of the movie along with bunch of other boys like Raashul Tandon, Tushar Pandey etc. Piyush Mishra the legend actor is in this movie as opposition lawyer against Amitabh Bachchan and I believe I don’t need to mention about the acting skills of this person.

amitabh
Talking more about the story, the most interesting thing is the so called Rule Book of the Girls Safety Manual explained by Amitabh Bachchan during his arguments in the court room. I would like to lay down all those rules here.

a) “Hamare yahan ghadi ki sui character decide karti hai.” – It clearly explains Girls should not stay out late. Because it is considered that if a woman is coming late then she may be someone who is having a bad or loose character.

b) “Kisi bhi ladki ko ladke ke saat baith kar sharaab nahi peeni chahiye. Kyunki agar who aisa karti hai toh ladke ko yeh indicate hota hai ki agar ladki mere saat sharab pee sakti hai toh mere saat sone ke liye bhi katrayegi nahi.” – It means a girl should not drink alcohol with any boy because if she does it means it is an indication that the she is ready to sleep with that boy.

c) “Kisi bhi ladki ko kisi bhi ladke ke saat kahin bhi akele jaana nahi chahiye. Kyunki aisa karne se log assume kar lete hai ki wo willingly waha par aayi hai aur unhe usey touch karne ya usey choone ka license issue kar diya hai.” – You should not spend time with boys or you should not go along with a boy in the society especially the places like clubs because it deems that it issues a license to boy to touch the girl.

d) “Shehar mai ladkiyon ko alag nahi rehna chahiye, akele nahin rehna chahiye. Ladke reh sakte hai par ladkiyan nahi. Independent ladkiyan ladkon ko confuse kar deti hai.” – A girl should not live independently and if you do it means that she is having a loose character. A girl should only move out from her house after marriage.

e) “Kisi bhi ladki ko kisi bhi ladke se hans ke baat nahi karni chahiye, kyunki who usey hint samajh lega.” – A girl should not smile or laugh while talking with a boy, otherwise he will take it as a sign or hint to touch her or sleep with her.

pink-girls

The above are the rules of a girls in our so called educated society. I am not saying that every family or every person is following this rule book but I must say it is a rule book followed by every second person in our society. We talk about women security and empowerment, but trust me the day we erase this rule book from every single person of our country, that day we don’t even need to think about women safety or empowerment. I request at least every parent should watch this movie to teach their children about what actually a society should be, specially upbringing of a boy child should be in a manner that he should know the value of a woman and how to give and take respect from another person irrespective of gender.

It is a must watch for every citizen of India to realize what our society is!

Freaky Ali – Movie Review

2.5 out of 5 stars (2.5 / 5)

A movie written and directed by Sohail Khan starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui (as Ali), Amy Jackson (as Megha) and Arbaaz Khan (as Maqsood) in leading roles. It is a sports oriented romantic comedy based on not so popular game in masses of India, Golf. Movie was very slow and boring in the beginning with an unwanted song which actually turns off the mood of audience who was expecting some serious acting from Nawazuddin Siddiqui film. Thank God but the movie gradually took the pace and Sohail Khan gave justice to his lead person Nawazuddin as per his capabilities.

nawazuddin
As shown in trailer, movie is all about a poor guy from slums of Mumbai who was an under garment seller, later on worked for underworld. As luck favours him, one day Asif Basra (as Kishan Lal) realises the talent of Ali of hitting excellent shots with a golf club. He trains him and make him compete in national level golf tournament. The whole movie goes on this journey of golf and a rivalry with existing champion of the Golf Jas Arora (as Peter).

amy-jackson
No doubt about the legend actor Nawazuddin, he was outstanding in the movie with his effortless acting and dialogue delivery. The beautiful Amy Jackson is there in a supporting role, maybe they casted as opposite role but I felt as a supporting role. She did what she has chosen for the movie. Arbaaz Khan as Ali’s friend an underworld person playing a major role in Ali’s life did justice to his role with good acting skills and performance. Huge applause to Asif Basra who was playing Caddy for Ali was outstanding in his role. Nikitin Dheer, Paresh Ganatra and Jackie Shroff (in cameo role) are there in comic roles featuring an underworld gang leading by Danger Bhai.

arbaaz
The lacking points in the movie as per my analysis are the initial 15 minutes of lagging story and the dramatic touch added in the climax as always happening in the very next Hindi movie.

Overall, it is a onetime watch to see the performance of Nawazuddin Siddiqui
