M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story – Movie Review

3.5 out of 5 stars (3.5 / 5)

Story of Captain Cool, Captain of Indian Cricket Team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the person who lead us to the World Cup after 28 years of long wait. The movie is all about the life of Mr. Dhoni till the World Cup we won in 2011. A regular guy born and brought up in Ranchi, not much good in studies but was very keen towards sports like Football, tennis etc. even though he was not so fond of Cricket in his child hood, but his school coach brought him into Cricket and then a legend started shaping in. It is all about how each and every person in Dhoni’s life supported him and how he fought with all odd situations and circumstances in his life to become today’s M.S. Dhoni. Talking about the performances Sushant Singh Rajput brilliantly played the innings and brought the movie into winning situation as like Dhoni himself . He really fits into the role and he completely nailed the character with all the possible ways. Anupam Kher is there in the movie as Pan Singh Dhoni father of MS Dhoni did justice to his role. I really want to mention two outstanding people in the film industry who always live the character in all their movies, Mr. Kumud Mishra and Mr. Rajesh Sharma.

Movie also brings out the hidden love stories of Dhoni’s life featuring Disha Patani as ex-girlfriend and Kiara Advani as Sakshi Singh Dhoni, his wife. The whole screen play is well shot featuring the era of 80’s and 90’s as the Dhoni’s struggle.

The guy Herry Tangri is there in the movie as young Yuvraj Singh who really looks like Yuvi in the movie. The lacking point as per my herry-tangrianalysis is the lag of story, little before and after the interval. It maybe that we all already know about what actually will happen in the movie. Second thing is the animation thing did in the movie for making Sushant look as young in the initial screen, replacing Dhoni’s face in real Cricket match footage actually messed up and really looks funny. Body goes somewhere and the head is facing somewhere else.

Hidden message behind the movie is that one should really work hard and always remains positive and patient towards there life. Chase your dreams with full of your heart and one day you will reach the place where you are deserved to.

Overall it is a good movie to watch and know about our Captain M.S. Dhoni.

Rustom – Movie Review

4 out of 5 stars (4 / 5)

Rustom is a Crime Mystery thriller movie based on the Naval officer Cdr Kawas Manekshaw Nanavati (1925-2003). It is all about a happily married couple derailed from there life, because the officer’s wife started loving someone else when he was out for long sailing duties for months. When the officer confronted this truth he lost the temper and rushed to kill the person with whom his wife was into relationship.

The movie is all about a suspense which I ethically can’t explain here, you should experience the thrill in cinemas for this. Director Tinu Suresh Desai fantastically made up this movie with excellent cinematography. The way camera is rolling around and the angles used with awesome editing creativity is commendable. Movie was shown in the post-Independence era, i.e 1950’s. The way it portrays Bombay with vintage cars running on the road, men wearing trousers above lower abdomen with short ties. But Somewhere they failed in presentation while trying to show the Delhi Airport and Air India flight, that looked like cartoon animation, but it can be ignored.

Akshay Kumar as Cdr Rustom is outstanding on screen, he is looking dashing in the white prestigious Naval uniform. He is in the uniform throughout the movie and constantly kept a behaviour of a defence personnel with awesome etiquette. When it comes to a patriotic character or a defence character Akshay Kumar always take that to a different level. Ileana D’Cruz is playing the role of Mrs Cynthia Pavri looking beautiful in the 1950’s style dresses. She beautifully played the role of a lady who has been trapped into a mesmerized world where she slipped towards an extra martial relationship. Esha Gupta is playing an irritating high class women role, sister of Vikarm Makhija the victim who got killed. She was seriously irritating onscreen with the kind of attitude she carries throughout the movie.

kumud mishra

Hats off to Mr. Kumud Mishra, how beautifully he gets into the character in his movies is commendable. In Sultan he turned as a Haryanvi speaking coach and now he is a newspaper owner and a Parsi. He was beautifully imitating the way a Parsi speak. He is a character in the movie who will remain in your mind for long time after watching this movie. Sachin Khedekar as opposition lawyer nailed the role with outstanding performance, no doubt he is a legend actor. I found the movie awesome ignoring a little bit lagging in between.

A nice crime-mystery thriller with fantastic performance of all artists.

Sultan – Movie Review

4 out of 5 stars (4 / 5)

A mind blowing performance from Salman Khan, really an Eid Gift for all. It seems like movie starring Salman Khan are setting up a new standard as a film and record in box office. It is a complete family entertainer with full melodrama and power packed actions of wrestling. In the beginning of movie, I felt it to be a little lagging but soon it paced up immensely to the top. sultan-salmanStory is little predictable but the way it is presented, made the movie a thrilling experience. As shown in trailer, it is all about a middle aged wrestling champion from a village of Haryana who won various gold medals for India and became a world champion in wrestling. The core of the movie is wrestling but the story is driven by love and romance. Movie is giving a message of girl empowerment along with promoting the sport wrestling in a very nice manner. Young crowd and new investors should promote alternative games other than monopolized game of our country.

Movie is blessed with beautiful songs composed by Vishal-Shekhar and sung by brilliant singers like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Mika Singh, Sukhwinder Singh etc. My personal best one is Jag Ghoomeya by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Salman Khan rocked with awesome acting and dashing wrestling moves. His dedication and hard work is reflected on screen. Respect for the various transition he made with his body for various stages shown in the movie. Movie is a combination of flashbacks where there is a 30-year aged Sultan with little lean physique but not as a pro. Then there is 40-year aged Sultan with bulky and fatty muscles with a tummy. Then transforming into a trained Pro-Wrestler in the same age of 40 with huge muscles and excellent definition. This time the only flaw I felt is the Haryanvi accent by Salman which is ignorable as the other entire performance is outstanding. As per my analysis the weak point with Salman was the emotional roles he does, but this time he performed it with excellence.

Anushka Sharma is there as better half of Sultan in the movie, she is also an International Level Wrestling Champion who is the sole responsible person for building up the personality Sultan in this world. She is the backbone of the movie with outstanding performance. She tried giving a message of saving girl child, importance of girls in the society and evil they are facing in some parts of our country. You can feel it that she really took wrestling classes to be original in the shots.

Anushka-Sharma-3

Randeep Hooda is there in a cameo role as a trainer of Sultan for the Pro-Takedown championship. No doubt, he did full justice to his role. Anant Sharma as Govind, Sultan’s friend who backed up always with Sultan for all his journey of life was outstanding and awesome in the movie. He completely nailed the Haryanvi character in the movie. Can’t ignore Mr. Kumud Mishra as Guruji of Sultan’s Wrestling, he added real touch of a true Guruji Pehalwan. Other than all-star cast, you can see real people from the wrestling world in the movie.

Watch it for a family melodrama with action packed wrestling.
