Ok Jaanu – Movie Review

3 out of 5 stars (3 / 5)

A simple and light weight movie to chill upon and will really give you some cozy feelings. The story and theme is targeted to the new generation audience who will actually get involved in the story while watching it. It is not comparable with Aashiqui 2 as both have a different story prospect. Aashiqui 2 was a kind of love story which is portraying the madness and sacrifice for love. This one is presenting the love life of every next youngster living in metro cities far from families. One of the biggest truth of current Indian Generation is like they want a causal relationship, a western outlook to their life but most of them don’t realize that from the bottom of the heart they are still someone who actually want to be in a relationship where they want love like 90’s Bollywood movies. Even if they want that from inside, don’t want to accept it coz they believe it may stop them to be modern or it makes them feel like a classic person or this is the way of life.

Well not going out of topic let’s talk about the movie.
Movie is all about a couple who met in a common friend’s marriage ceremony and get attracted to each other. Both individuals have different aspects in their life and were chasing the same. So, don’t want to be in a relationship where any commitment is needed. But as somebody rightly said love happens without your permissions, it is a feeling which can be controlled, but you cannot erase it from your brain ever, if you ever felt true love for anybody. Then there is a journey of couple living together with beautiful light moments and with an obvious climax. The lacking point of the movie is the climax, which is very predictable and straight. But the pace of the movie was good and entertainer throughout the whole two hours fifteen minutes.
The lead actors Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor were really awesome and they look so natural while doing these kinds of roles. Shraddha no doubt looking very beautiful in the movie and best thing about her is like she actually represents the beauty of a girl every next door. It is the simplicity and cuteness more than the beauty which actually made her perfect. Commendable acting by the legend actor Naseeruddin Shah and Leela Samson. Music is very awesome composed by A R Rahman, specially the Enna Sona and Hamma Hamma song.

A light romantic movie for a one time watch with beautiful songs.

Tamasha – Movie Review

3.5 out of 5 stars (3.5 / 5)

The duo Ranbir and Deepika is back with the same kinda message – “live your life from heart, not as per the commands of circumstances”. It start with screening of a stage show with amazing fusion of theatre art and storytelling. In the initial stage the whole movie depicts flashback of Ranbir’s child hood which is a beautiful imagination of his life story into some epic love stories like Ram-Seetha, Romeo-Juliet etc. As the name is depicting it is all about in a flow of tamasha or nauntanki.

tamashaaa
Ranbir is looking dashing along with always cheerful Deepika Padukon… When this combo meets with Imitiaz Ali this kind of movie occurs. As like his all movies, this will also inspire you to be a traveller. Both the hero-heroine met first in the French Island Corsica and the Matarghasti song is picturized there and the place is looking amazing.

tmasaha1
In between there is a song from an auto driver, a Punjabi song by Mika all is mixed in such a way that it will definitely mesmerise you with the magic. But be careful, this movie is not for masses, as it is little bit puzzling too. Some where I felt it is little lagging and boring after the interval, but carried back to the required pace within 15-20 minutes.

Overall, watch it to be a self-enthusiastic learning along with a little different Bollywood approach. “

Jazbaa – Movie Review

3.5 out of 5 stars (3.5 / 5)

“A powerful comeback for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan” is the sentence that depicts the strength of the movie Jazbaa. Ash is back, looking pretty as always, and we can see her hard-work put in to be back in shape after being a mother. You can see an excellent performance of Ash in this movie along with some serious intense emotional moments.

jazbaa-ash

But have to say Irrfan Khan again stole the attention from his co-star as always by his seamless, effortless skills especially the dialogue delivery. Movie is full of catchy dialogues by Irrfan Khan. He is playing role of a Police officer who has been suspended for being corrupt.

irrfan-khan

He is also a good friend of top criminal lawyer of the country played by Aishwarya Rai as Anuradha Verma. Movie is in a platform of kidnapping Anuradha ’s daughter, compelling her to appeal for a case of brutal murderer and rapist of a girl. The abductor’s demand is to appeal for the culprit and the only way to free her kid is to save the culprit from the hands of law. You can also see Shabana Azmi in a mysterious surprise role and Atul Kulkarni as the public prosecutor fighting the case against Anuradha Verma.

jazbaa

Then the movie rolls over an exciting path of investigation and chase which really make a good hold over the audience throughout the two hour ten minutes duration.

Movie is dedicated to raise voice against the mishaps happening towards girls in our country. It portrays the power of women in a parallel way of Love and Hatred. A mother can go to any extend to save her child, and in the same way she can fight against the world to bring justice for her child. Director Sanjay Gupta beautifully pictured the whole movie in a different theme as always like his previous projects. His theme will be always dark and neon colored to give a different look to the ambiance.

Movie is a very good watch and don’t forget to see the last dialogue of Irrfan Khan…

Talvar – Movie Review

3 out of 5 stars (3 / 5)

A dramatic re-creation, based on a true incident of Aarushi Talvar murder case also named as Noida Double Murder Case. It happened on March 2008 and is still a debate about who the murderer is. Though the parents have been accused as murders by court and are sentenced for life imprisonment. The first investigation report of CBI states the murderer to be a guy who is the compounder of Mr. Talvar and also friend of Talvar Family’s servant, who was also killed that night. However, the second investigation report states the parents are the culprit and as per movie the second report has been modified and drafted intentionally to prove the parents as guilty.

Talking about movie, Director Meghna Gulzar did a fantastic job and very beautifully carried the intensity of the story throughout the movie. Initial stage of the film is projecting the ridiculous way of operation of Police to investigate any case in our country. There cold behaviour and incompetency is portrayed in the character of a lazy and useless police inspector, who was the investigation in-charge of this case in the beginning. Due to his lack of responsibility and foolishness the case became complicated and a mystery in the history of our judiciary system. Movie seems lagging and little slow in the beginning but gained pace gradually after forty percent of its completion. We can see some real good interesting processes CBI follow in their investigations.

irrfan

The characters of movie almost resemble the original people related to the real incident. It is one of the outstanding and awesome performance of Irfan Khan leading the movie as a CDI officer (CBI replica in the movie). Each and every character like Konkona Sen as Mother and Neeraj Kabi as Father executed the role so beautifully that the audience will really travel through the hard time actually faced by that family. How a happy going family reached to a tragic end overnight is really a shocking and intolerable event in the race of human society. The whole story passed through different kind of variations plotting various investigation reports claimed by officials throughout the case.

talvar

If we believe or we follow what movie wants to convey and if it is truth, this is a shameful mark on our law and order. Other than the justice over the case the whole movie depicts lot of evils and disgraceful things about our society like one of my friend Rashmi Aich  expressed her views in Facebook:

“Read Avirook’s Sen Aarushi and watched Talvar over the weekend and it left me really shaken about the kind of world we live in. I was not raised in a metropolitan city but still our society in a much smaller town was far modern in our outlook. Why is it so wrong to be an educated and open minded person in this side of India? Why having a drink at the end of the day in the confines of your home a taboo? Why adolescents can’t have sleepovers without doing anything fishy? Why being attracted to people from other gender of our age during teenage is a bad mark on someone’s character? How it is ok to penalize a woman just because she is strong headed? Why should we generalize someone’s way of mourning? A family was destroyed just because they didn’t look the so called decent “backward” people, who would curb their child’s freedom just because she is a girl.”

As she expressed the movie is talking about the narrow minded so called proud middle class of our country, the kind of a category of un-educated youth those can’t differentiate between love and lust. Irony is that the reason behind this mind-set is due to their upbringing in such a kind of society who believe that our culture is the best one in the world and don’t want to think over the fact that what is good for them and what is bad, it is all about a knee-jerk kind of society in our country.

Movie ends up with an interesting debate between the two teams lined up by Investigation Bureau which clearly give a message to the society that how corrupted and how easy it is to manipulate our law those who are in power.

Movie is a must watch for everyone, to realize the truth that, how much unpredictable our life in this society is.

Hero – Movie Review

2.5 out of 5 stars (2.5 / 5)

The most needed debut for Sooraj Pancholi’s son of Aditya Pancholi, directed by Nikhil Advani, produced by Salman Khan & Subash Ghai is released today and seems the magic of the hero is not spreading much as expected. Although movie is good and better entertainer with all the Bollywood masala for mass, the theaters are not filling up fast. Probably we have to wait till this weekend to see about the responses of public.

hero

Talking about the movie, it starts with overdose of heroism with larger than life action sequences. Later on, it comes down to the grounds of reality making the actions little logical. Sooraj is looking great flaunting his lean muscular body with an amateur and young kid kinda look.

muscular-body-photo-of-sooraj-pancholi-from-hero-movie

The girl with a broad jaw line Miss Athiya Shetty, daughter of Sunil Shetty is casted against Sooraj as the lead lady. Considering this is athiyaher debut, she did better job in her pilot project. In the terms of acting skills both look like amateur but better than many in the industry.

You can see fantastic actors like Tigmanshu Dulia and Aditya Pancholi onscreen creating some good cinema. Aditya Pancholi is back on the screen after the movie Bodyguard supporting his son’s debut film.
Screen play and locations of the movie is pretty awesome showing places from snow covered Kashmir along with beautiful monasteries. Combining these locations with music of Amaal Mallik, Meet Bros Anjjan and Sachin-Jigar created a fantastic combination. Second half of the movie is having a little more hold on the audience emotionally as compared to first part, which is little lagging and slow.

hero1
The song “Oh Khuda” is picturized at a stage format and it is choreographed beautifully. Movie end up with the most loved song of the year sung by Salman Khan “Main Hoon Hero”.

Beside above mentioned points movie is a one-time watch with a light romantic love story which will not leave any impact on audience to remember ever.

All is Well – Movie Review

1.5 out of 5 stars (1.5 / 5)

All is Not Much Well, that is all I want to say about this movie. Director Umesh Shukla failed to create the humor he wants to; neither he been succeeded to deliver the message properly. alliswelltrailer759Movie is trying to deliver a message of family values, responsibility of children towards parents and value of relationships via some senseless and sensible humor. Even after bunching too many talented actors the charisma is not there in the movie.

mohammed_zeeshan_ayyub

Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub as Cheema the villain played an awesome and fantastic role in the movie with full justice to the comic role, I believe he is the only person who will leave mark on your mind after the movie. Abhishek Bachchan seems like he did the movie so casually that even he forgot to do the lip movement in corresponding to the songs or may be an editing fault. He is looking fake in all the singing sequences as the voice is not matching at all with his personality.sonakshi-sinha-all-is-well

As I mentioned in my previous review for Brother Movie… again an unwanted item number by Sonakshi Sinha in this movie which is completely out of the track along with the story as the song is filling in by some senseless reason.

Humor is being tried to create in the movie by various senseless topics like insulting or making fun of Punjabi culture. It is irritating in the movie from start to end that Asin is trying to win heart of Abhishek all over the movie and the attitude of the boy character is so rude and ruthless that no girl will ever talk to that guy again.

alliswell759
Somewhat movie gained a little soul in the last twenty five percentage and will give at least a mind satisfaction to a person who devoted 2.5 hours for this presentation. I personally feel like the kind of personality and talent carrying by Abhishek Bachhan, Rishi Kapoor and Asin Thottumkal is not a thing to waste in these kind of movies. Hope to see some improved cinema from them in future.

Please don’t waste your time and money at all for this movie!

NH-10 – Movie Review

3 out of 5 stars (3 / 5)

An out of the track movie revealing the dirty evil hidden in rural northern Indian villages. Hippocratic towards love marriages and girl child leaded these states villages to a brutal condition where development and education is still a challenge.

anushka

Again Anushka Sharma proved that Women oriented and Woman leading movie can bring revolution in box office and Bollywood as any of the so called hero in our film industry. No doubt, we have to accept our industry is a male hero dominated department. I appreciate that Anushka Sharma (NH-10), Vidya Balan (Kahaani, Bobby Jasoos), Kangana Ranaut (Queen), Rekha (Super Naani) etc. are bringing a new phase to our industry and hope things will change for good.

Talking about movie, it is on an excellent platform as I already stated above with a powerful super bomb performance of Anushka Sharma. It is all about a Gurgaon based couple who goes for a road trip and witnesses honor killing of a couple. It leads to a bad turning point for them chasing the culprits behind them to kill them.

n101

Neil Bhoopalam played the role of Anushka’s husband, who portrayed his effort in a nice way matching the talented Anushka. The couple lost there everything in that trip leading Anushka to show the power of womenhood and brought an end to the story erasing the butchers. Somewhere you can feel movie as very stretched one as the chase is very much irritating giving your heart some real good pumps.

Go and watch the movie to grab some good message and to appreciate the effort of Anushka Sharma.

Badlapur – Movie Review

2.5 out of 5 stars (2.5 / 5)

Completely different Avatar for our dashing hero “Varun Dhawan”. Hats off to him for accepting this kind of role in an early phase of his carrier pace and I guess he completely did justice to the responsibility he had taken.

varun dhawan

From a chocolate boy to a mid-aged man. A great transformation with matured acting. Story is all about Revenge as the name depicts. Chasing the culprits responsible for the death of his beautiful wife (featuring Yami                                                                                                                        Gautam) and son.

A happy family comes to an end leaving only the man out of the nuclear home. Revenge begins from there and the man completely runs out of the way of his life and the ultimate aim targeted towards the assassination of the culprits. Which lead him to became mentally depressed and physically strong for the revenge. The journey of the revenge take you throughout the movie to discover the justice for him.

But Sorry Varun, somebody stealed the show from you and that is none other than the great Mr. Nawazuddin Siddiqui. He completely rocked the screen and he will be the only person you gonna remember whenever you hear the name “Badlapur”. nawaz It seems he doesn’t need to act, it is coming effortlessly from his heart.  He is such a versatile actor who can mix up in any role in a way that you can’t even imagine an alternative for him. Not an Happy Ending like  usual typical bollywood drama.

“Go and watch it if you are strong hearted and will not get depressed by kind of sad movies”

Ab Tak Chhappan 2 – Movie Review

2.5 out of 5 stars (2.5 / 5)

The one word which gonna describe the movie is “Nana Patekar”. Its all about his acting and performance. Story line is not as good as  expected. It disappointed the audience seeking the quality delivered by the part 1 Ab tak chappan.

Nana patekar

Movie continues from the point where Part 1 ended with grown up son of encounter specialist Saadhu. It is a fight against our system which is sick, suffering with the epidemic “Corruption”. Shows how the honest and loyal officers are mere puppet of system. Nana patekar dialogue delivery and  screen appearance will make your money worth for this movie.

Ashutosh Rana not been used well ashuthosh ranaas per his ability but then also he is a junior cop to Saadhu but with a negative touch. Gul panag as a Crime Reporter nailed the character and it is surely a come back for her to the movies.

“Over all it is a one time watch if you like Mr. Nana Patekar”

Rang Rasiya – Movie Review

3 out of 5 stars (3 / 5)

Rang Rasiya, The journey of an artist is actually a mock on society. Raja Ravi Varma, a famous Indian painter, very well played by Randeep Hooda, fights for his sustenance in society. His imagination doesn’t know any bound, however the so – called workers of society wants to chain his thoughts. He paints the mirror of our true rich tradition, which later is scorn by social workers.

Nandana Sen looks stunningly beautiful in her role of inspirational muse for the painter. The pace of the story is little slow and the environment feels gloomy. However the essence of tradition attracts the audience. Brilliant acting by Randeep Hooda and great cinematography.

IMG_0464.JPG

The movie carries a social message and aspire to bring in a change in mindset of people. It want people to let others do whatever they want to. We are no one to stop the thinking or lifestyle of any person. There is a very small chunk of people who would like the movie. I believe we need to have that literary sense to like it.

Though I liked it , it’s a kind of an old folk tale which might have a lot of literary connotations.
