Freaky Ali – Movie Review

2.5 out of 5 stars (2.5 / 5)

A movie written and directed by Sohail Khan starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui (as Ali), Amy Jackson (as Megha) and Arbaaz Khan (as Maqsood) in leading roles. It is a sports oriented romantic comedy based on not so popular game in masses of India, Golf. Movie was very slow and boring in the beginning with an unwanted song which actually turns off the mood of audience who was expecting some serious acting from Nawazuddin Siddiqui film. Thank God but the movie gradually took the pace and Sohail Khan gave justice to his lead person Nawazuddin as per his capabilities.

As shown in trailer, movie is all about a poor guy from slums of Mumbai who was an under garment seller, later on worked for underworld. As luck favours him, one day Asif Basra (as Kishan Lal) realises the talent of Ali of hitting excellent shots with a golf club. He trains him and make him compete in national level golf tournament. The whole movie goes on this journey of golf and a rivalry with existing champion of the Golf Jas Arora (as Peter).

No doubt about the legend actor Nawazuddin, he was outstanding in the movie with his effortless acting and dialogue delivery. The beautiful Amy Jackson is there in a supporting role, maybe they casted as opposite role but I felt as a supporting role. She did what she has chosen for the movie. Arbaaz Khan as Ali’s friend an underworld person playing a major role in Ali’s life did justice to his role with good acting skills and performance. Huge applause to Asif Basra who was playing Caddy for Ali was outstanding in his role. Nikitin Dheer, Paresh Ganatra and Jackie Shroff (in cameo role) are there in comic roles featuring an underworld gang leading by Danger Bhai.

The lacking points in the movie as per my analysis are the initial 15 minutes of lagging story and the dramatic touch added in the climax as always happening in the very next Hindi movie.

Overall, it is a onetime watch to see the performance of Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Sultan – Movie Review

4 out of 5 stars (4 / 5)

A mind blowing performance from Salman Khan, really an Eid Gift for all. It seems like movie starring Salman Khan are setting up a new standard as a film and record in box office. It is a complete family entertainer with full melodrama and power packed actions of wrestling. In the beginning of movie, I felt it to be a little lagging but soon it paced up immensely to the top. sultan-salmanStory is little predictable but the way it is presented, made the movie a thrilling experience. As shown in trailer, it is all about a middle aged wrestling champion from a village of Haryana who won various gold medals for India and became a world champion in wrestling. The core of the movie is wrestling but the story is driven by love and romance. Movie is giving a message of girl empowerment along with promoting the sport wrestling in a very nice manner. Young crowd and new investors should promote alternative games other than monopolized game of our country.

Movie is blessed with beautiful songs composed by Vishal-Shekhar and sung by brilliant singers like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Mika Singh, Sukhwinder Singh etc. My personal best one is Jag Ghoomeya by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Salman Khan rocked with awesome acting and dashing wrestling moves. His dedication and hard work is reflected on screen. Respect for the various transition he made with his body for various stages shown in the movie. Movie is a combination of flashbacks where there is a 30-year aged Sultan with little lean physique but not as a pro. Then there is 40-year aged Sultan with bulky and fatty muscles with a tummy. Then transforming into a trained Pro-Wrestler in the same age of 40 with huge muscles and excellent definition. This time the only flaw I felt is the Haryanvi accent by Salman which is ignorable as the other entire performance is outstanding. As per my analysis the weak point with Salman was the emotional roles he does, but this time he performed it with excellence.

salman

Anushka Sharma is there as better half of Sultan in the movie, she is also an International Level Wrestling Champion who is the sole responsible person for building up the personality Sultan in this world. She is the backbone of the movie with outstanding performance. She tried giving a message of saving girl child, importance of girls in the society and evil they are facing in some parts of our country. You can feel it that she really took wrestling classes to be original in the shots.

Anushka-Sharma-3

Randeep Hooda is there in a cameo role as a trainer of Sultan for the Pro-Takedown championship. No doubt, he did full justice to his role. Anant Sharma as Govind, Sultan’s friend who backed up always with Sultan for all his journey of life was outstanding and awesome in the movie. He completely nailed the Haryanvi character in the movie. Can’t ignore Mr. Kumud Mishra as Guruji of Sultan’s Wrestling, he added real touch of a true Guruji Pehalwan. Other than all-star cast, you can see real people from the wrestling world in the movie.

Watch it for a family melodrama with action packed wrestling.

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo – Movie Review

3.5 out of 5 stars (3.5 / 5) – #PRDP #PremRatanDhanPayo

When you know it is a Sooraj Barjatya movie even if Salman Khan is not in the cast then also you must expect story of a family along with colorful larger than life royal set and locations with a high emotional family drama which can be not sugar but saccharin for the current generation. Talking about this movie it is the same screen play what he believes and follow from an era. The first thought that comes to your mind in the very beginning of the movie is that Salman is looking so very cheerful and lively on the screen as always Sooraj Barjatya used to portray him.

The sets of the movie is very beautifully screened in Palaces along with rich apparels for all the characters. Sherwanies, Jackets, Lehngas it is a celebration of Indian traditional costumes. Sooraj Barjatya recreated the Sheesh Mahal, as an ode to Mughal-e-Azam which inspired him to be a film maker… a replica of the Sheesh Mahal in the Lahore Fort.

Even after so much goodies as above movie does not have much hold over audience because there is not much excitement as required at this platform in the initial stage till interval. After interval it paced up a little and gradually the emotional quotient which is searched by audience for Sooraj Barjatya’s kind of masala started flaming up. The entire movie is kind of narrated in songs and it is a little turn off for those who don’t like much songs in between the movie.

anumpam

Bunch of matured actors are there in the movie and you can see some good chemistries like between Anupam Kher and Salman Khan, Deepak Dobriyal and Salman Khan… Then also I would say director missed using the most out of these fantastic characters of Anupam Kher and Deepak Dobriyal. As what Mr. Barjatya use to do like in Hum Aapke hai Kaun, there is a friendly chemistry between Salman and Laxmikant Berde (Laluu). What I guess is, if you compare the Hum Aapke Hai Kaun with PRDP you can find some similarities even though both of them are in a completely different platform. There is a football match in place of cricket in Hum aapke Hai Kaun, same kind of kitchen scene you can see portraying Sonam and Salman followed by song Jalte diye in same romantic way like Pehla Pehla Pyaar Hai.

Well, after interval it started a hold over audience by keeping you travelling through emotional highs and lows of various relationships of family like, in between siblings and parents etc. Even if you are in the category of hating the title song of “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo”, it is played in such a part of the story that it will cheer you up. I personally hate the kind of negative publicity of those people who doesn’t even watched it and spreading it in social media in terms of their hatred towards Salman or towards the 90’s kind of movies and songs. Like, I read a comment somewhere that “Watching PRDP is like I use to attend Pooja at my home forcefully”. It doesn’t mean that nobody likes Pooja. Some social media groups are making parody of movie parts and are spreading it all over the internet, people sharing it as they found it funny. If you go to watch a movie keeping in mind that it is a bad one, then it is likely very hard to accept yourself that it is good or average. I suggest to be neutral while going for a movie, reviews are good to read but don’t state that as yours too.

salman prdp
Watch the movie only if you like Salman Khan, or you like movies which only portrays family values with a kind of 90’s touch and songs. A simple clean and very colorful movie, which will definitely leave only some good impression over you and may also add some emotional quotient to a person towards their family.

Hero – Movie Review

2.5 out of 5 stars (2.5 / 5)

The most needed debut for Sooraj Pancholi’s son of Aditya Pancholi, directed by Nikhil Advani, produced by Salman Khan & Subash Ghai is released today and seems the magic of the hero is not spreading much as expected. Although movie is good and better entertainer with all the Bollywood masala for mass, the theaters are not filling up fast. Probably we have to wait till this weekend to see about the responses of public.

hero

Talking about the movie, it starts with overdose of heroism with larger than life action sequences. Later on, it comes down to the grounds of reality making the actions little logical. Sooraj is looking great flaunting his lean muscular body with an amateur and young kid kinda look.

muscular-body-photo-of-sooraj-pancholi-from-hero-movie

The girl with a broad jaw line Miss Athiya Shetty, daughter of Sunil Shetty is casted against Sooraj as the lead lady. Considering this is athiyaher debut, she did better job in her pilot project. In the terms of acting skills both look like amateur but better than many in the industry.

You can see fantastic actors like Tigmanshu Dulia and Aditya Pancholi onscreen creating some good cinema. Aditya Pancholi is back on the screen after the movie Bodyguard supporting his son’s debut film.
Screen play and locations of the movie is pretty awesome showing places from snow covered Kashmir along with beautiful monasteries. Combining these locations with music of Amaal Mallik, Meet Bros Anjjan and Sachin-Jigar created a fantastic combination. Second half of the movie is having a little more hold on the audience emotionally as compared to first part, which is little lagging and slow.

hero1
The song “Oh Khuda” is picturized at a stage format and it is choreographed beautifully. Movie end up with the most loved song of the year sung by Salman Khan “Main Hoon Hero”.

Beside above mentioned points movie is a one-time watch with a light romantic love story which will not leave any impact on audience to remember ever.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan – Movie Review

4.5 out of 5 stars (4.5 / 5)

Another blockbuster from Salman Khan for a 300 Crore Club race. This time Director Kabir Khan nailed it from Salman Khan making him doing some serious intense acting rather than the casual way of his performance which he usually does. I have always been thinking about Salman that he work generally with rookie directors and comedy oriented movie makers.

Selfie-song-from-Bajrangi-Bhaijaan1

When he is clubbed up with talented director the kind of output we received is Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Tere Naam, Wanted, Kyunki and Bajrangi Types of movies. This may be the best film of his career, I wish it should not as we are expecting more such kind of movies from him. India already became the fan of the cute little girl Harshali Malhotra the “Munni” of Bajrangi.

harshali

As I saw somewhere in facebook a line that without speaking a single word she conquered the hearts of audience with her expressions and looks.

Movie is all about a kind hearted and simple country guy from India on a race to Pakistan illegally to return a mute girl back to her home. Initial phase of movie is with full of beautiful landscapes of Kashmir and eventually travelling to the thick and crowdy Old Delhi showing the beautiful country side of our Old delhi population and culture along with a very beautiful projection of Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah. May be some people can feel like the first part of the movie is little slow and lagging due to the way of flash back scenes they narrate but it all covered by the cuteness of Salman, Munni and Kareena.

kareena

Salman appears with an awesome energetic track “Selfi le le re” which brought the theater atmosphere to the heights. Following Bajrangi’s cute and kiddish activities leading an awesome track from Atif Aslam “Tu Chahiye”. Second Half starts with the rock solid performance of Nawazuddin Siddiqui as a reporter from Pakistan inspired from a real life character Chand Nawab, who became viral on youtube for his funny kind of reporting for a news coverage. There is an awesome track by Adnan Sami “Bharde Jholi Meri” which really mesmerize your soul with the pureness of Islamic Culture.

bhardo

This is a film which really depicts the actual humanity laid in the people of Pakistan and Hindustan irrespective of the anti-national elements aiming to break this love and relationship. Bajrangi was a person who have only faith in his own religion and feels uncomfortable to being in a Mosque or being with a Muslim person and eventually he realized his shortcomings and enlightens himself with knowledge about what actually a religion is? And how pure Islam is? It is not about the religions… there is only one race and that is Humanity.

It is a must watch for every Indian & Pakistani to realize what we actually are… And for others please watch it for an excellent story and performance…

50 Lakhs Donation by Salman Khan for J&K flood victims

Who doesn’t know Salman Khan for his helpful nature. His ideology is to give as much as possible to the society; for its the society who enabled him to be what he is.His charitable foundation Being Human salman-khan-has been actively working for many causes and recently, the star and his foundation took up a new cause. A yet another deed that credits to his account is his donation of 50 lakh for the aid of Jammu and Kashmir flood victims. Salman, a man with golden heart, never leaves a needy person empty handed.

He might treat a few people with indifference but always give justice to those who are in real need.

And thus, this move too is not at all a surprise to us. No matter howsoever busy he is, but he still manage to take out time for his social responsibility.I suppose, this is the reason that his fans have unconditional love for him. No one pay any heed to any balky act of his. Its not his stardom that attracts people but he as a person is what that has developed fondness for him.
