A true story inspired from the life of Purser Neerja Bhanot an International Hero who played vital role in the rescue of passengers and crew from the terrorist hijack of Pan Am Flight 73 on 5th September 1986. She was shot dead by the Libyan Terrorist while she managed to rescue around 259 hostages out of 279. Government of India awarded her with India’s highest gallantry award for bravery in the face of the enemy during peace time – Ashoka Chakra Award, and she is the youngest recipient for this till now.

Sonam Kapoor has done an outstanding performance and the way she portrayed the character, I am sure Neerja lived again for those 2.5 hours. Although she can’t die ever and is alive forever in our hearts. Director Ram Madhvani focused on each and every single element that made the audience time-travel to those period and live the experience of terror which all the people faced at that time. Salute to the parents who gave birth to this brave girl. Shabhana Azmi is playing the role of Neerja’s mother and nobody can do it better than her. She has shown the courage and will power of an Indian mother, who remain positive till the last breath and always the back bone of every family and every martyrs of our country.

Yogendra Tiku is playing the role of father in the movie giving full justice to his role. Talking about the pace of the movie it is in the required quotient and definitely an emotional treat for body and mind.
To refresh the patriotism and humanity in yourself. In between it may feel that movie is little slow but that is overlapped by rest of the scenes which can give you goosebumps. You can see singer, music director Shekhar Ravijiani playing the role of Jaideep (friend/lover of Neerja).
It is a must watch for every single person to keep the courage and bravery alive in our hearts and to stand with justice, thus, to keep Neerja alive ever.

Last but not the least, I personally felt the climax is the biggest foolishness happened in the script, sorry but I can’t reveal the same in my review as it is against the ethics.

The lead Aditya Roy Kapoor is in a shredded avatar flaunting six packs, as a young artist he is trying to win heart of Katrina Kaif from childhood itself. Katrina is looking gorgeous all over the movie and she has the perfect looks for the role what story demands. But even after so much goodies, the movie is a big disappointment at box office. Movie is so slow that it will literally make you bored in almost all places. It is a little low down acting from both Aditya and Katrina, but a fabulous performance from Tabu. Story was fresh, locations and filmography was awesome, I guess the thrill, soul which should grasp the audience for that 2.5 hours was lacking.

Despite all the barriers the combo of coach and trainee lead them to their impossible dream of being an International Champion in Boxing, earning a gold medal for India. Movie also gives a message to the society and our government that, if politics is evaded from sports you can get champions from every next street of our country. (Agar sports se politics hata de toh, gali gali mai champion milega).
